Grandpa
One month ago I was in Idaho for my grandpa's funeral. It was one of those sad and happy occasions. Sad because I will certainly miss my grandpa, and yet I'm so happy that he is once again with this sweetheart. I lived just a few minutes away from these grandparents for most of my childhood, and they truly were the kind of grandma and grandpa every little girl dreams of having. I feel so blessed to have had them in my life as long as I did. Love you grandpa!
A few memories of grandpa...
-Sitting on his lap for loves and tickles
-The ENDLESS teasing
-His loud whistle
-Working in the garden & picking raspberries
-Calling us when he had flood irrigated their big yard so we could come play
-Catching night crawlers
-Singing with his brothers and family events
-Working shift work and sleeping during the day
-Working at the temple twice a week
-Serving missions with grandma in New Zealand and Australia
-Being sealed to my husband by him in the Idaho Falls Temple
-Holding my own in some good, friendly debates
-Bringing him water and holding his hand at my grandma's viewing

I'm so sorry for your loss. What a sweet tribute you've written just by saying all the special things that you remember about your time with them.
You and your family will be in my prayers.
What an unbelievably precious picture. Such a treasure for you to have!
Your grandpa sounds like my grandpa. He too sealed us (me and my hubby, along with all his married grandkids) in the Temple too. Love it!!
Beautiful tribute. We really did have the best grandparents. I couldn't have asked for better ones. Thanks for taking pictures of us all with him because I am so sad that I don't really have one with grandma. I really cherish the picture. Thanks
Such a sweet tribute...and a beautiful image to go along with it...comfort in your loss...and joy in his return to his sweetheart.
I'm sorry about your grandpa, Shelley. We lost Corey's Dad this Spring, and my grandma is not too far from the same journey. Sadness in the loss and sweetness in the knowledge of eternity. Thinking about you!
What a wonderful gift to have your grandpa- so close and so many memories! I love this picture! I especially love his happy expression!!
Shelley,
That picture is beautiful of both you and your grandpa!! What a great legacy they have left behind. So sorry for your loss...
ok Im crying now, this was so sweet, beautiful, sad and personal to me to read. As right now I am watching my grandfather as his life is dwendling away. Reading this just made me think about him even more, and the memories I have of him and how hard its going to be. Your in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time in your life.
