{Summer Sweets}

At the beginning of summer I made a "bucket list" of things I wanted to do with the kids. Honestly we didn't get to everything, but I'm happy with what we've done. More importantly, we've really enjoyed this summer. You see, we moved in the summers of 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009. That's a lot of moving and it really makes me appreciate the summers when we aren't packing & unpacking, when we have friends and know the area and have more time to really enjoy our time together.
So. . . one of the things on our list was to have a summer sweets sale. I have fond memories of my mom helping us with a summer sale, our popsicles were a nickle and brownies were a dime. Prices have got up a bit since then, but the fun was the same. We made little fliers and took them around the neighborhood to the homes with children. I also emailed a few to friends from church. The kids were so excited all week as we made popsicles, brownies, cookies and lemonade. They had fun decorating the table and Hannah even had the idea for name tags. They didn't get any customers the first 30 minutes and were getting pretty discouraged, but after that we had lots of friends stopping by and staying awhile to visit. It was a sweet afternoon.

I love this idea. The pictures are so cute. I will have to remember this idea for when my kids get older.
What a fun idea! Our summer just ended, and I'm so sad for it be over. I just love having my kids home. I'm going to try to remember this for next year!
Looks fun!
That is an adorable idea!
Oh sister, I admire the things you do with your children. I hope someday I can do as many fun activities with my kids as you do with yours. And as always, your kiddos and decorations look spectacular :) Love you!
looks like so much fun. we really wanted to come but the last minute preparations for our CA trip left the day stretched to the max. hope y'all do it again next summer!
