Letter Art

A few months ago I came across a letter collecting group at Two Peas. I was lucky enough to join and have access to lots of fun letter images. Since we had two of my brother's names for Christmas, I decided to make them some "guy art" for their apartments (Dredge is my maiden name.) I converted the original images to BW and added a lot of contrast to get a grungy feel. The printed size was 12x5, made to fit some black frames I found at Wal-Mart. Now the real question is...after 3 months did they actually hang them anywhere? ; )

My friend sent me the link to your blog, my maiden name is Dredge too! We must be related somewhere because it's not the most common name in the world. I live in MA now, but my Dad is from Kaysville, Ut, and his Dad grew up in Brigham City, UT. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi!

A friend of mine and I have done the same thing by taking photos of all the ironwork in downtown Charleston- we spent an afternoon trying to "find" all the letters of the alphabet! We now use the letter photos, in b/w, for baby and wedding gifts! Fun!

I absolutely love this! I've loved the abc and number books for kids like this... used them when I taught kindergarten. Oddly, it didnt occur to me to make my own for Haylee... I can't wait to do this now!

very cool...this would definitely make for good wall art! question: ok so i know dredge could be a popular name in the states...but did you ever live in sydney?? and did you have a sister that served a mission on Tsquare?? I know it could be a bit of a stretch!!! :)
