Back to School

When I was growing up I always felt a mixture of excitement and regret when it was time to go back to school. Excitement for a new year, new friends, new school clothes, but regret that I never seemed to have done everything I had hoped over the summer. Even now as a mother I had those same feelings this weekend. I was excited for Hannah, but I felt there was so much more I should have done with her this summer. So it was with mixed emotions that I saw my girl off to first grade this morning.

Ben on the other hand, was pretty sure how he was feeling . . . LONELY! He'll start preschool next week, but for now he's missing his sister.

Loved her up on her little toes, trying to catch that first glimpse of the school bus!

SOooooo adorable!! How did you do her hair? It is beautiful! Is it braided? Twisted? I love it! We homeschool, and we start next Monday, I can't wait!

Look at that cutie-patootie first grader! Hope she had a great first day and I love your shots, especially the bus ones.

Very cute Shelley, love the little storyboard and her huge smile in the first one! And I loved the niece ones below...the sunflowers and toothless grin are great!

I love the black and white photos as she's waiting for the bus. Such a momentous day.

What great pictures! Glad she had a good 1st day. Did you enjoy a little peace and quiet? I thought I would enjoy the quiet but then I found myself feeling a little lonely. (I am sure that will pass in a couple of days).

She looks like such a little model!
Great shots!
